About Villarreal CF
Villarreal Club de Futbol, nicknamed the "Yellow Submarine", was founded in 1923 and competes in LaLiga, Spain's top flight.
In 1998, president Fernando Roig took over and transformed the club, securing promotion to the first division and making Villarreal a consistent force in European football.
With 21 LaLiga seasons and 16 European campaigns, Roig has become the longest-standing club president in LaLiga history.

The Villarreal CF youth academy is the cornerstone of the club's success and one of the world's top development programs.
